Lumi advantages
With Lumi Aligners, we pride ourselves on our cutting-edge technology and design, ensuring a comprehensive treatment for all orthodontic needs.
All cases are treatable: simple, moderate, severe crowding, class II, class III, open bite, deep bite, surgical and treatments with mini implants.
Since the success of the treatments with aligners depend on the quality of work of the laboratory and the treating doctor, Lumi provides all the tools and education needed for laboratory technicians and orthodontic specialists.
What are the different types of treatable cases and malocclusions? How are they treated?
Deep Bite
Lumi rectifies an excessive vertical overlap of the front upper teeth over the front lower teeth, hiding the lower teeth.
Open Bite
Closes frontal space between upper and lower teeth, usually due to a habit like tongue thrust, thumb sucking or mouth breathing.
Cross Bite
Corrects the misalignment when some of the upper teeth sit inside the lower teeth, promoting an unbalanced occlusion.
Spaces and Diastema
Seamlessly closes spaces and tightens the contact points between teeth.
Gummy smile, surgical cases...
Lumi Laboratory and Lumi Education assists doctors with the complex cases treatments, by sharing digital orthodontic expertise.
Class II Malocclusion
Addresses left and right occlusions, where lower first molars and canines are behind of the upper first molars and canines, compared to the normal occlusion.
Class III Malocclusion
Addresses left and right occlusions, where lower first molars and canines are ahead of the upper first molars and canines, compared to the normal occlusion.
Crowding
Alleviates mild to severe tooth crowding, ensuring each tooth has its place on the arch following a good archform.
What’s the difference between Lumi's digital planning and other companies' treatment planning?
Lumi's digital thinking process has been proven by many doctors clinically and is moving forward towards expansion in the digital orthodontics. Its use of various software applications for treatment planning, makes Lumi one of the leading companies in 3D planning and digital orthodontics.
At any time during the treatment, the doctor can request a superimposition of the simulation to assess the case evolution and progress for 3D simulation readjustments if needed. It is also helpful tool to evaluate before and after 3D simulations and clinical results.
Below is a comparison table highlighting the main differences between Lumi aligners vs other clear aligners vs traditional braces:

Appearance | Nearly invisible | Nearly invisible | Noticeable |
Material | 3 layers: PET-G, PU plastic | Multilayer, proprietary plastic | Metal brackets, wires, and bands |
Treatment process | Removable, changed every 7-10 days | Removable, changed every 7-14 days | Fixed, adjustments made by an orthodontist |
Comfort | Very Smooth and Custom-Fit | Smooth and Custom-Fit | May cause some discomfort or irritation |
Treatment duration | Varies, usually, 4-24 months | Varies, up to 36 months | Typically, 18-36 months |
Eating restrictions | Removable for eating | Removable for eating | Some food restrictions required |
Oral hygiene | Easier to maintain oral hygiene | Easier to maintain oral hygiene | Requires extra care to clean braces |
Effectiveness | Effective for simple to severe cases: even open bite and surgical | Effective for simple to severe cases | Effective for all types of cases |
Cost | Less expensive than other aligners | Can be expensive | Generally, less expensive than aligners |
