As a Lab Technologist at Lumi Aligners, you will be at the forefront of orthodontic innovation, playing a pivotal role in the simulation, planning, and production of high-quality clear aligners. Your responsibilities will blend hands-on technical work with digital treatment planning to ensure precision, patient comfort, and optimal results. Working closely with orthodontists and technicians, you’ll contribute to every stage of the aligner lifecycle—from digital modeling and 3D printing to quality control and equipment maintenance.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and refine digital treatment simulations using CAD/CAM software (e.g., 3Shape, Exocad).
- Collaborate with orthodontists to interpret and implement prescribed treatment plans.
- Operate, calibrate, and maintain 3D printers, thermoforming, trimming, and dental scanning equipment.
- Fabricate clear aligners based on simulation models, ensuring fit, accuracy, and comfort.
- Conduct quality control checks on aligners to meet clinical standards.
- Maintain detailed production records, including patient cases and aligner batches.
- Troubleshoot technical issues with lab equipment and ensure minimal production downtime.
- Uphold strict health, safety, and sterilization protocols in all lab procedures.
- Manage material inventory and contribute to workflow optimization in the lab.
- Stay informed about new orthodontic technologies, simulation software updates, and best practices.
Must Have
- Bachelor’s degree in Dental Technology or a related field.
- Hands-on experience with CAD/CAM software and 3D printing technologies in a dental setting.
- Strong attention to detail with a passion for digital precision and patient-focused outcomes.
- Knowledge of orthodontic principles, dental anatomy, and clear aligner manufacturing processes.
- Technical problem-solving skills and the ability to maintain lab equipment efficiently.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills to meet deadlines and collaborate effectively.
Nice to have
- Experience working in a clear aligner lab or orthodontic practice.
- Familiarity with digital impression systems and treatment planning platforms.
- Understanding of polymer materials and aligner thermoforming processes.
- Certification in dental technology or advanced training in orthodontic lab work.
